Astronaut John Glenn has always been my hero, so I was thrilled to see him passing in the crosswalk on his way out and my way in to the Ohio State Capitol Building, where I worked for State Senator Boggs. John Glenn's look when he saw my approaching enthusiasm could only be described as alarmed and he might even have been preparing to dodge me. I had had no intention of accosting him, or of even speaking to him, so I was quite embarrassed and I passed him without even looking at him and hurried on my way. He is still one of my favorite heroes, and I am sorry that I startled him that day.

I am reading John Glenn's 2000 book, A Memoir with Nick Taylor because I want to know more about this remarkable man.

I am reading John Glenn's Memoir.
