Glorious Autumn View At My HUD Housing

When I look around the urban obstacles, like overhead wires and telephone poles, this is the view from the window in my senior HUD* housing. Glorious, isn't it.
Now that I am walking a little again, I walk the service road along this lovely holler and I wonder about the little critters that live in it, as my Scots-Irish ancestors in the hollers of Kentucky might have done. My mother told me that it is called a holler because people would holler from one side to another instead of climbing down and up again to conversate. AI says, "Scots-Irish Americans and Canadians descended from Scottish and Northern English settlers who migrated to the province of Ulster in Northern Ireland during the 17th century before moving to North America in the 18th and 19th centuries." And here I am!
