Body Surfing On My Breastbone

I have always admired the lithe, confident surfers in the Pacific Ocean, off Hawaii and California, with their tight, strong hips smoothly twisting and turning to ride their surfboards on the waves. I myself love moving in the water and I am a fairly good, confident swimmer. But I am a woman with one leg just a tad shorter than the other and my hips are loosey-goosey and slide around unpredictably. Nope, no surf boarding for me. However, one day I was playing in head-high surf and I realized that my body is a wonderful surfboard, so I rode the crest of the waves on my breastbone. It was easy! Fun!
