Waiting Out The Tornado

My late friend Irene and I had gone somewhere interesting, to do something fun (exactly what is lost in the mists of time that has passed), and we stopped on the way home for refreshments.  We were lingering in our booth, she chatting amicably as was her nature and me listening while I took in the view out of the picture window that lined the wall.  Suddenly I recognized the telltale sign of an impending tornado, the sky had turned a putrid green.  The reason that the green sky was unpleasant and even repulsive to me was because instinctively I knew it meant extremely foul and violent weather.  When I pointed out the debris that had picked up in the winds now swirling past the restaurant windows, eighty-something Irene shrugged her still girlie shoulders and said with a laugh, "Well, there's nothing we can do until it passes, let's have another drink."  What a delight she was!  What a long and adventurous life she lived.  Of course, I miss her.  She was a very good friend to me.

I realize that this is a second telling of this story in my blog, but Irene reoccurs in my mind also.

This (unaltered) weird, vibrating photograph was taken for us by the bartender, note how green and strange the air is.
