The fragrance of coffee in the early morning was habitual in my family, and every morning for over half a century I have continued to drink a morning cup of coffee with cream and maybe cane sugar.  Later in the morning I typically drink a glass of iced tea sweetened with cane sugar, enjoying it as much of the rest of the world enjoys tea, because it is a nice habit.  My private joke is that I am sweet enough as I am but I add the cane sugar for the extra pleasure of it.  Then for the rest of the day into night I usually drink water as it is the most natural refreshment.

However, truth be told, coffee has always tasted like mud to me.  Mud with whatever flavorings I added to it, mud with vanilla, mud with caramel, mud with steamed milk, all still mud.  My diminished taste buds suggest to me that it is time to stop my sentimental mud sipping.

It seems that I will be reduced at dawn to breaking my night fast with only water, pure and simple?  Alright.
