Blue Ceramic Door Tiles

My Maine-sponsored "companion" strung the blue ceramic door tiles that I made forty-odd years ago for my forever home and I nailed them to my kitchen doorway while she was there to make sure that I did not fall.    I appreciate her help, and I am so happy to finally see my blue ceramic tiles glittering in place!  If I touch them gently they jingle.

Back when I made my blue ceramic tiles, my Greek girlfriend who lived next door asked me to make a second set of blue ceramic door tiles for her.  She had been born and raised in Athens, Greece until the age of nine and when she hung the tiles in her kitchen, she quaintly said that they would keep away the "evil eye".
