Tormented But Not Tortured
Sooo, this is the dummy who robbed me, and he is now cooling his heels in prison. Hummm.
Roger Ver, CEO of Bitcoin.com, posted a Youtube video in 2018 in which he complained to the world at large that he had been "tortured" in an American prison, instead of being able to enjoy the "campground" prison context he had been promised when sentenced to ten months in an upscale prison for sale of explosives. According to Roger Ver it was just fireworks and everyone was doing it. Be that as it may, he continues to proclaim that he is opposed to paying taxes and that always seems to cause problems for people. People who pay taxes resent people who evade paying taxes. It is just human nature. Roger Ver complains that an American prison guard/counselor planted a shank on him, then tormented him with threats of an additional two years of prison. Torture is "the action or practice of inflicting severe pain on someone as a punishment or to force them to do or say something, or for the pleasure of the person inflicting the pain." Roger Ver was mentally tormented, not tortured, those are two very different cruelties.
Just for the record, I posted my complaint against Roger Ver in the following online comment as AdroitWaterBear-9 hours ago.
"Very early on when Bitcoin started I had a few bitcoins in my wallet that several years later had significantly increased in value, BUT my bitcoins disappeared from my wallet and Bitcoin gave me the brush-off, no recourse." (online loss ~ $1500.00)
Reminds me of the old saw, "There is a sucker born every moment.", attributed to P. T. Barnum, an American showman of the mid-19th century.
