Weather Reminiscences

They've both gone on ahead now, but years ago my calico cat and my dust-colored mini-poodle would react to rain, thunder, hail, lightning, and tornados on the horizon by sitting close to me and watching to see how I took it. If I jumped, they ran under the bed, but usually I just sat with a book and we listened to the weather with that quiet, alert feeling you get when all hell-o might break out.
