Memorial For John Wayne
When I was a girl my hero was movie star John Wayne, May 26, 1907 – June 11, 1979.
To punch the villain in the nose and toss the problem in a cold creek seemed marvelous. Although I would never have dared to do such a thing myself, I vicariously enjoyed seeing him do it on the silver screen. I had the childish notion that someone like John Wayne would protect me when I grew up.
It was not until much later in life that I learned how to protect my own self in those brute ways with various martial arts trainings, and I simultaneously came to the realization that I would never want to. But John Wayne is still my hero.
With the help of LunaPic | Free Online Photo Editor, I generated this glitzy GIF in memorial for Marion Michael Morrison (May 26, 1907 – June 11, 1979), known professionally as John Wayne and nicknamed The Duke.
