Sitting in meditation and sending loving kindness and compassion toward the insects who fought to the death on my floor last night, the victors sucking out the life juices of their victims and leaving the tiny hard dead hulls for me to mourn in the morning. I feel compassion for the victims and send loving kindness toward the victors. I bless the insects because my mind fails when it touches the thought of humans at war. Victors and victim, now we are speaking in Latin with old-time words formed thousands of years ago, proof that we have been at war for a very long time, maybe forever. What sort of loving kindness and compassion would stop this?
