Criminals sit 24/7 at home high or in a bar drunk and think of ways to cheat and steal.  Meanwhile, you and I are working straight up 9-to-5 or more with no time and no need for chicanery.  So it is not surprising that crooks sometimes blindside and harm us.  To add insult to injury they have a final trick if caught of trying to flip the blame.  They throw themselves on the ground, so to speak, writhe around as if injured, and howl that their intended victim has hurt them.  It beggars belief, it is difficult and even impossible to believe, but there it is. That is the early 21st century condition of crime, as I see it.

Crime has been on my mind as of late, due to my advancing age and diminishing capabilities, I fear becoming a victim.  All sorts of criminals seem to surround and menace me.  I am appalled and fearful.
