He used to sing to me; in his deep voice he sang:

Over and over again he sang those words; maybe because those were the only words he knew, or maybe those were the only words he could truly sing. It was enough for me to feel loved. I cry to remember him singing. DY, if you are still out there in the world, I loved you too.

You asked me to marry you, but I saw no ring, no plans; I asked you if we could live together and you chose instead to live with a man who drank and did drugs like you. So no, we are no longer close, and I am sad about your choices.
