Looking For Love In The Right Place At The Right Time

When I get to where I want to be, and even as a septuagenarian, I will look for love a little. Meanwhile, I amused myself today by answering a few “getting to know you” questions from a senior romantic connection website.

What makes you laugh? High-level irony at the vicissitudes of life and low-level punny humor. “I tried to grab fog, but I mist.”

What do you love? Humanity in general, precious few in the particular.

What do you fear? ibid.

What do you have in your pockets? Well, it is either pixie dust or lint, you tell me.

What are your favorite smells? The ocean. I was born near the ocean.

Mountain hideaway or beach house? This is a really old question. My answer is a beach house high in the mountain above the tsunami-level. Hey, no one said these questions could not be taken seriously.

A stray animal is in your backyard, what is it? Actually, I have a fox in my backyard. That is okay, but I wish it was an elephant.

What color shoes do you prefer? Maybe sparkly purple, but that is not very practical, is it?

What is the farthest you have been from home? I have a choice in this, Norway or Africa.

Would you bungee jump or sky dive? Thank goodness I am too old to do either. My wild attempt at sky diving is a story for another day.

If you were a vegetable, which one would you be? A rutabaga, which are a lovely golden color when boiled and not too sweet, maybe a little bitter.

What is the first thing you notice about people? What they claim to care about.

Do you have a special talent? Sure, live long enough and you will develop a few skills. Give me an extra sheet of paper.

I wish I had someone to ask these questions. I am tired of being smart and tough, I want to be sweet and tender.
