Have Pity On Cattle And Horses

I wrote the letter of supplication below on September 28, 2015 to Muhtar Kent, chairman and CEO of the Coca-Cola Company, and various other entities who support the horrific “entertainment” of bull fighting by advertising at the venues; such as Bud Light® beer. I also copied the Vatican and the President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops because according to SHARK the “Pope could end this torture tomorrow with a strong statement condemning the torture of these innocent animals.” Bull fighting in 2018, which is putting an animal in a pen and stabbing it to death from relative safety behind all sorts of shields and distractions, even attacking it while riding a horse, occurs in Spain, Portugal, parts of southern France, India, Tanzania, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, and Peru.

SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) was founded in 1993 by former hunter Steve Hindi, and “is a non-profit organization with supporters around the US and beyond. SHARK's mission is to nonviolently battle animal abuse whenever and wherever possible.” (By the by, they say that sharks are smarter than people think, and are social amongst their own kind; which is something to chew on, with absolutely no pun intended.) https://www.sharkonline.org/

My prayer in the form of a letter.

Coca-cola, please work to put an end to bullfights. Honestly, how can you feel good about Coca-Cola sponsoring these activities where captive bulls are tortured to death and hapless horses maimed? After more than fifty years of drinking coca-cola as my preferred soda, I find I cannot buy it because of these animal atrocities. Brutalizing a magnificent animal does not make you magnificent, it just makes you an animal. Sincerely,

I never heard back from anyone. I still drink coca-cola. I hope the next generation does better.

My heart goes out to SHARK, they have such a long way to go, and such a heavy load to pull the rest of us gluttons and victimizers in the direction of their peaceable kingdom.*
