Chicago is my favorite American big city!

Here are the images that I took on Friday past of magnificent Chicago. Enjoy!

I love Chicago, but sometimes I get lost in the towering maze of downtown, and then I roll down my window to shout out for directions from passersby. “Ma'am, Sir? Excuse me. Could you please tell me where...?” I ask any type of person to see what a range of Chicagoans are like, and I am grateful when they step up to my car to answer as best they can, some even step up to say that they are sorry that they do not know. This is my compensation for the stress and awkwardness of navigating downtown Chicago, to meet a couple of big-hearted Chicagoans along the way. Fifty years ago Chicago was the first big city that I ever explored, and it still delights and thrills me. "Yuppers." It is my favorite American big city, better than east coast New York City, better than west coast San Francisco, and better than all the others in between. I love Chicago. For the peppy-melancholy mood that well-mixed town generates in me, listen to Chicago That Toddlin' Town (1922): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6-c7GQygi0.

My Traveling Motto: It is impossible to get lost among people because wherever I am, the people living there know where they are, and therefore they can tell me where I am.
