My last Halloween Trick-or-Treat
At my request, Maureen dragged me up and down sidewalks as I gasped and giggled my way through my last Halloween trick-or-treat. I wanted to give Halloween one last !Hurrah!
One elderly lady, the same age we were behind the masks, commented as she tossed candies into our bags, “You are very big.” When we laughed, she said “And, you seem a lot older than the others trick-or-treating.” We bragged we were senior citizens and she slammed the door on us. A good time was had by most of us. I am sorry if we scared her, but that is the point of Halloween, to give and get a little out-of-the-ordinary fright. I was frightened the exertion would give me another heart attack. I bypassed that with exhilaration.
