I Snack While Traveling, Do You?
I have given up on eating out when traveling, although I used to really enjoy it. Mass-produced fast food has become vile*. There are few real restaurants off the interstate highway now to choose from, and after a decade of preparing home-cooked meals for my late parents, I find most restaurant food is awful anyway. I do not know if there is a new kind of cook in their kitchens who does not know and does not care to serve decent food, or if they have simply sunken below cheap with their ingredients, or what their problem is. So, before I go, I shop for my favorite bottled teas, candies, cookies, nuts, and other snacks that I like so that I can easily indulge in snacking while traveling.

* Wow, the word “vile” has many synonyms. IMHO, most of them describe fast food: foul · nasty · unpleasant · bad · disagreeable · horrid · horrible · dreadful · abominable · atrocious · offensive · obnoxious · odious · unsavory · repulsive · off-putting · repellent · revolting · repugnant · disgusting · distasteful · loathsome · hateful · nauseating · sickening · base · low · mean · wretched · disgraceful · appalling · shocking · ugly · vulgar · sorry · shabby · shameful · dishonorable · execrable · heinous · abhorrent · deplorable · monstrous · wicked · evil · dark · dirty · vicious · iniquitous · sinful · corrupt · sordid · depraved · perverted · debased · reprobate · degenerate · debauched · dissolute · contemptible · despicable · reprehensible · diabolical · diabolic · devilish · fiendish · hellish · damnable · yucky · sick-making · gut-churning · icky · gross · godawful · lowdown · rotten · sick · beastly · bogging · lousy · vomitous · noisome · scurvy · disgustful · loathly · egregious · flagitious.
Well, maybe not flagitious, that means unrightous.
