Query To The Ephemera Society

Dear Curators,
I am seventy-years old and it is time for me to let go of some of life's little treasures. I am contacting The Ephemera Society to offer my collection of artist trading cards. (Please see the five samples enclosed, and photographs on the next page of this query.)
For six years I made Artist Trading Cards and I exchanged them with women throughout the world. It was a relaxing pastime, with a thrill when a new package of cards arrived for me in the mail. I traded Artist Trading Cards with women in many states in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Finland, Australia, Argentina, Russia, Spain, United Kingdom, and Japan. What fun! But now I am moving from my house to a much smaller senior appropriate abode, and I must find homes for many of my cherished possessions. In the case of these artist trading cards, I especially want to find a safe, permanent home for them as these fragile paper artist trading cards have particular social and historical value—they were made by many different women throughout the world for the sole purpose of trading them with other artists. However a fuller assessment I would leave into your hands, if the Ephemera Society would be agreeable to receiving my shoe box sized collection of artist trading cards. All of my cards were collected by trade, I traded one of my own artist trading cards for each of them. I see these paper artist trading cards as delightful little treasures that may fade away under the brilliance of digital creations. I hope that The Ephemera Society can keep them in your collection.
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. Best wishes,
Sincerely,
Annmarie Throckmorton, M.A., Sociology
