Thieves Stole More Than Wood

When thieves stole the end cap of wood from my new raised flower bed, wood and soil and plants that I put in with my own two hands in 2013, they stole more than firewood. They stole my confidence that that my house was safe enough that ordinary lawn ornaments would not be stolen out of my yard. This is just one of many things stolen out of my yard in Bloomington, Illinois, USA. Is this happening everywhere? Has it always been happening?

A bright spot in looking at these old photographs is that is nice to see Mother again. In her last year of life with dementia she was always with me, she lived with me. I have good memories of her.

Note the large end cap of wood that thieves stole.
