Uncharacteristically, I planned no RL (real life) event for the 4th of July this year. The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I have the memories of fireworks bursting over American Midwestern skies in all their glory, like a mirage over the western desert, and even faintly in the distance over the high vault of the ocean. I have had a lot of delightful experiences on the 4th of July in my life with all sorts of people. This 4th of July I watched the Washington DC parade in the morning and the celebration at the Lincoln Memorial in the evening, on my Kindle Fire tablet.
To celebrate this 4th of July in a different way, one that my old body could physically manage, I created an abstract* of our American flag. During the past several months I designed the stars and stripes, the rich colors, the complex textures, and I just now put them together to create my American Flag Abstracted. My abstract flag is just another way of looking at the American flag, another celebration of the unity of the American people, our shared values, our traditions. Please enjoy it.
