Persona Non Grata

Annmarie Throckmorton, M.A.

Persona Non Grata disrupted my life for several years and caused me unnecessary unhappiness in different ways. When I met him in a city park I saw destruction in his crazy, intelligent, sad eyes and so I told him that I would not go out with him; but he followed me home. Then he gave me things that any woman would like until he had me twisted up into a relationship with his craziness. He gave me pretty flowers from his garden but told me it was only because he enjoyed giving flowers, it had nothing to do with me. He gave me beautiful, expensive earrings but told me it was only because that was all he could get as payment for computer coding that he had done. He made me feel sorry for him while he treated me badly. He seemed to be in his own personal Hell, and not without reason. I did not want to be in his Hell. He brought harmful people into my life, then he was gone, and they hurt me.

But he is significantly younger than I, he is probably still active in his life and career, and therefore I will say nothing more about him. Most of what he did was typical of what the miserable kind of men who are careless and uncaring of women do. I am just surprised that he was able to do that to me.
