Harmonious Om*

When I could still walk about freely in life, I used to take recreational forays into neighborhoods, or even nearby small towns, to see what was to be seen. I would park my vehicle at one end of the main street, then spend an hour walking up one side of the street and down the other, stopping in each store or business just to see who and what was there. Usually I just went in with a smile and a quick glance around before leaving but sometimes I found something interesting to explore or someone interesting to meet. I remember stopping a little longer than usual in a charming little shop that sold yoga paraphernalia and imported knickknacks from all around the world. The overloaded aisles were somewhat crowded at the time and I was thinking about leaving when I heard a woman begin to resonate with a long drawn-out “Ommm.” At first I thought it was a loud speaker but her voice was too full and close. Without seeing her, I responded with my own “Ommm” in harmony. I looked around for her but could not find her in the cluttered shop. I think she hid for fun. We harmonized for several moments but I never found her. I do not know what the other customers thought. I was pleased and amused.
