The early morning road frightens me.

Yesterday, irrespective of the limitations of my age, I was compelled by a hearing for my late father’s personal injury lawsuit against his former nursing home, to drive upstate to Chicago, Illinois. It was a twelve hour day for me, driving or on my feet. Last night I slept fitfully, my old body paying the price for the trip, sleepless and sleepy, in and out of bed, lots of bathroom trips, no appetite, pain, and my brain is dull.
