Spammers’ Delirium
The following free verse was extracted and restructured from spam that I received in Spring of 2004, at a time when spam was a relatively new phenomenon. I used parts of those highly annoying, relentless, and often insane spammings to form a stream of consciousness response. I read it at my poetry group, starting out timid and uncertain of the spam; then building to a defiant crescendo against it; with audience participation of stomping, hand clapping, hoots, and whistles. A good time was had by all.
